REGISTRATION AND EXAMLNATION. So far as is known at present the majority of those liable for compulsory sen ice'in Otago and Southland have registered under the Defence- Act. It is understood that in the Middleinarrh district two youths were willing to register, but their parents objected, one on the ground that it meant conscription.
