DUNEDIN FANCIERS' CLUB.
A meeting of this club was held in Mr £. S. Wilson's rooms last evening, Mr 1". S. Omand presiding. The Hardware Merchants' Association forwarded a cheque for £1 Is as « donation to the club's funds. The Town Clerk wrote stating that the building inspector had approved of the building decided on for the show this year. A letter was received from His Excellency the Governor regretting his inability to open the show, as he was returning to Wellington on August 2. Mr R. Hopkins Sras appointed Press steward. The Secretory submitted a list of entries:—Dogs, 195, as against 167 last, year : poultry. 466, «s against 432 last year; pigeons, 341, as against 220 last year; canaries, 157, as against 136 last year; cats, 98, as against 60 last year; making a total of 1,257, as against 1,015 last year. From the above it will be seen that the Show this year promises to be a huge success, as the entries are well over any previous vear. and are well distributed. Sidev's "Buildings, which are just opposite the "A. and P. Society's Winter Show, should prove excellent premises for holding the exhibition. A large list of special trophies was hanedd in by Messrs Rogen and Carolin. Arrangements have been made for specially lighting the premises.
