Manuka, s.e., due to-morrow from Melbourne and Hobart, was expected to arrive at the Bluff soon after noon to-day. Kiiiapoi, s.s., left Greymouth this mornjut; for Sydney with a cargo of timber. Irene, Norwegian barque. arrived in the Lower Harbor on Saturday evening with 1.600 ttms of guano from Surprise Island. Originally she had been fixed to load for the Bluff, but her destination was later vhanged to Dunedin. Surprise Island was left on July 2, and fine weather was experienced. While being towed up to town yesterday the Irene got stuck in the mud for a couple of hours, and knocked down two piles. The Ariel, now about due to leave Surprise Island, is loading for the Bluff in place of the Irene. .Karamea. s.s.. chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company, left Montreal <m .lune 29 for New Zealand ports via Melbourne and Sydney. Mokoia. s.s., arrived at 11.45 yesterday morning from Auckland and way ports. She now goes down to Port for overhaul, and the Hauroto takes .her place in the Auckland running, sailing at 5 p.m. tomorrow. Captain Vint joined the Hauroto to-day its temporary master, taking the place of Cantain who resumes shore duties.
