OTAGO INTERCLUB CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP.
The .sub-committee of the Otago Centre have arranged the course for the five-mile interelub championship, to be run from Wingatui racecourse on Saturday, the sth August. The race starts on tho _ course opposite the grand stand. The trail leads along the course, thence skirting along the far side of the hedge and brush fence, over the sod wall and log fence, re-entering the racecourse at tho seven -furlong post, continuing along the course to the double brush ; then, leaving the course, the trail doubles back outside of the course, thence to the left over the first lull, and again taking a sharp turn to the left, continuing past tne larmhousc to the Otago Central railway line to Wingatui, re-entering the racecourse halfway up the straight. The distance travelled at this stage will bo a2>proximately 2£ miles. The same course is repeated, thus completing the full distance of the race (five miles), the finish of the race being in front of the judge's box. Practically the whole of the race will be viewed from the stand at Wingatui. All the local clubs will take part in the race, and in addition it is probable that the Ashburton Harriers will oo represented by a strong team. The following officials have been appointed to control the race:—Referee, Mr E. RosevedS 1 ; judges—Messrs Barclay, Calkin, Sanderson, and Smith ; stewards — Messrs Dreaver, Dawson, Andrews, Brown, R. G. Anderson, R. Mitchell, Willett, and A. Melville; timekeepers—Messrs Beatsou, Williamson, and Townsend; starter. Mr W. Rudkin. The trail will be laid by two members of each harrier club. INTERCLDB RACE.
