It is reported by the United States Consul at Amoy that pheasants may bo bought there at 3d a brace, coal at 5s 2d a ton, tiour at a farthing a pound, boned mutton at lid a pound, and chickens at 2id each. It is claimed that the capability of the mind can be tested by a machine which has been invented by Mr John Gray, the treasurer of the Royal Anthropological tute.
