CHRISTCHUBCH, May 23. Leonard M, isitt is (suing James M. iitewart in the .Supreme Court for £I,OOO damages for libel, arising out of the publication of plaintiff's name in the "black list" of the Traders' Protection Association. Isitt was formerly a .Methodist minister, and is well known as a Prohibition lecturer. He is in business in Christchureh as a bookseller, and the account for which he was listed was a chemist's bill for 6s, which, he said, had been overlooked and for which he hud never been asked to pay. Defendant pleaded privilege on the ground that the list was cent to members of the association only. The case is proceeding.
