The turbine steamer Maheno. which arrived at Auckland on Sunday, made a fast passage from Sydney, her average speed being 14.4 knots an hour. She will stay there till about the end of the month or the beginning of Juno, and after taking in meat and general cargo I will proceed to the Bluff' and 'Timaru. j thence to Northern ports to complete loading. She is timed to leave New Zealand about the middle of June, and to arrive at London about the end of July. Ulimaroa, s.s. from Melbourne, berthed at the _cros« wharf at 11.20 this morning. She will sail at noon to-morrow for Lyttelton. Wellington, and Sydney. Kaituna. s.s., is due to-morrow from Banbury (Western Australia) with a cargo of jarrah. Her other ports of discharge are Lyttelton and Wellington. Aparima, s.s.. left Cardiff ou Friday for Colombo. After discharge at Colombo she will take the July loading ut Calcutta for New Zealand ports. The Maoriland Company’s new steamer Lauderdale arrived at New Plymouth yesterday afternoon direct from Liverwool. This is the first direct steamer from Home to berth at the breakwater.
