DUNEDIN CHORAL SOCIETY.
To-night's performance of Mend/slsBohn's oratorio ' Elijah' by the Choral Society promises to excel' any previous rendering of this oratorio given in UunBdin. From the interest displayed indications also point to a record 1 iii'se. The fact that this popular ora'.oro is one of the works to be given by the Sheffield choir is no doubt one reafrn why so many are anxious to h-jv ;iy locaj society. The soloists are all accomplished singers. Madame .'osqinine Ottlee, of Christehurch, soprano, is & charming singer, and goes through her work in a very artistic manner. Miss Grant is the second soprano, and Mrs Winifred Simpson the contralto. The male voices are two of Duncdin's most popular soloists—viz., Mr Jno. Leech, tenor, and Mr James Jago, bass. Doors will be open at 7.30, and the Secretary will be in attendance to enrol subscribers, the privileges offered being —four tickets for each concert £1 Is, jtnd two tickets for 10s 6d.
