W. Batornan, chief engineer oT the Auckland Harlior Board's dredge JLxpaai, while, -repairing gear in the bottom of Ihe pit of the dredge, was caught in a pipe, which became twisted round other portions of tho machinery. Batc-man was in danger of being crushed to death, -when the second engineer stopped the engines.
