DUCK-SHOOTING IN THE GARDENS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Tho above form of sport has been going on for some considerable time now in a small way, especially during the evenings ; but Sunday morning was without a doubt the “ official opening ” of the season. J Xo Joss than six shots were tired on Sun- ) day morning, between 5.30 and 7, and I 1 now think it about time that some of the authorities looked into this matter. When one gets five youngsters howling at daybreak, caused by tho reports of the guns and hail of shot on one’s roof (fortunately not through my window), on a Sunday morning, it is no joke. Is (here no caretaker on the premises to prohibit this sort of thing?—l am, etc.. Duke Street Resident. May 22.
