TO CORRESPONDENTS.
" Nauticus."—Your note is both dogmatic and incorrect. The new programme announced by the First Lord (March 10 cable) includes five battleships, which presumably will be in commission three years from now—i.e., the spring of 1914. Fiva Bdded to twenty-five (the number already built or building) make thirty, exclusive of the twi in Australasian waters. Therefore Mr Lee's forecast, as pointed out by Mr 31'Kenca, is not correct, and our statement J* in harmony with our previous note.
