(Received February 23, at 8.45 a.m.) The Court of Appeal overruled Mr Justice Darling's derision that each party in the Simmons versus ' Liberal Opinion' libel action should pay their own costs, and ordered Mr Dunn, tho defendants' solicitor, to pay the plaintiff's costs, less £1,50. The ' Daily Chronicle's ' appeal from the decision in the libel action in which £5,000 damages were awarded Mr P. C. Simmons, a Conservative candidate, has been settled privately. Tho terms were not divulged.
