Sir, I notice that Wellington City Council aro introducing a byda.u dealing with hairdressing saloons, and it is earnestly to he hoped that our local body wid follow suit, as the- list to palron-s cannot lie digitised. At the present time that painful and unsightly scourge "barbers rash" is much in evidence Tito hydaw referred to provides that every hairdresser's saloon is to lorni part of a" good and substantial in firstclass order and repair. No carpets, mats, or rugs will be permitted to bo used ; no spittoon shall be used, or placed for uso in any saloon. All tables, fittings, etc., shall be constructed, of glass, marble, slate, or well-seasoned hard and polished wood, built without mouldings or devices. The ojllv soap used shall lie liquid or pondered. Razors shall -bo wiped on paper only. Sponges are not permitted, except private ones "owned by individual customers. No liquid or powder is to bo applied except by means of a spray or clean towel. Tho uso of machine or rotary brushes is prohibited. Every person engaged in a saloon shall wo nr white or other approve! coats, which shall bo washed at least onto a week. Every attendant shall wash his lends after attending to any customer and before attending to the next. No person apparently suffering from any skin or sculp disease Audi be attended to in any saloon, and no person shall expectorate on tho floors of a saloon. The most scrupulous cleanliness shall 1»> observed in every respect.
