KAIKORAI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The annual congregational meeting of the Kaikorai Presbyterian Church was held last night, the Rev. It. It. M. Sutherland presiding. The Chairman gave a short account of his journey to Auckland to attend the General Assembly, a "holiday" from which it had taken him ten days to recover. Referring to the finances iu connection with the church building fund, he said that the proceeds of the last sale of work, of a gift night, aud of a concert by the choir amounted to £74 7s.—(Applause.) He was sure that that was more tlian anyone expected. The ladies decided that a tenth of the net income should be given to missions. —(Hjjar, -hear.) Interest would be paid
from what was left over, and there would be £lO or a little more to go towards the debt extinction fund. Tiie first part of the Synod grant would be paid aftor March 31 next and tin; remainder at intervals of six months. They would tlnis have to wait another two years before they got tho whole of tho £750. The debt was £414, and if they could get about £3O between now and April they would be ablo to pay off £ll4, leaving only £3OO to be paid when they had received the Synod grant. He had received a cheque for £3O from one member, one of £lO from another, £3 from Brockville Sunday School, and over £2 from a lady who kept a money-box in her home.—(Applause) Professor Dickie delivered a short address, and solos, quartets, and concerted, numbers were sung by members of the choir-.
