ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
l'h-Croon, of Woodlands, was killed:last evening. He was motoring across tho7a.ilway line, and failed to see a train approaching, his ear coming into collision with at. Miss M'Leod, who was in the car with Dr Green, was stunned and badly shaken. James Kalcr, who had teen working at Grant's saw-mill, KinJoch, was drowned on Sunday night while crossing tho Dart River on horseback. This rooming (states a Hokiiika wire) John (irav, night wardsnian at the Westland Hospital, accidentally took, with fatal results, a drink out of a bottle which contamel a drug, death ensuing twenty minutes later. Ho was a single man, about forty-six years of age. An elderly lady was knocked down, by the awinglelree of a cart this afternoon when she was crossing from the Post Otlieo .to a car. She was not seriously hurt.
