THE 'ARGUS' WINS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, December 6. The action brought by Senator Barker against the proprietors of tho 'Argus,' claiming £5,000 damages for alleged libel in connection with tho plaintiff and the Labor party, resulted in a majority verdict for tho defendants. [Mr Stephen Barker is a former resident of Dunedin. He went to Melbourne 6om<* twenty years ago, and for many years was secretary to tho Trades Hall. Last April lie was carried into Parliament on the Labor wave.]
