An unusual, fatality' took place at Myross-Bush, near Invercargill, this morning, whereby a.singlo man named Robert"Henderson, thirty-six years of ago, Viet his life. Deceased and his brother had been sinking a well yesterday, and had reached 20ft. On going* down the well this morning deceased waG overcome by. foid gas at the 6ft level, and fell to the bottom. The brother and a neighbor, named Arthur Brown, endeavored to recover the deceased, but each in turn was brought back' to the. surface unconscious. Further assistance was obtained, and tho body of the deceased was recovered by means of a. rope and grappling hook. Dr Hogg ", eaid that death, was clue to. asphyxia-., t-ion by fotd air.
