EIETEEN REASONS: R. THOMSON AND CO. guarantee that they do not use any synthetically-prepared essences cordials and summer drinks to hide inferior quality as well as to provent putrefaction, which is the result of cheap ingredients and slovenly and insanitary workmanship: Gum acacia, tartaric acid, acetic acid, saffron, Safflower, tumeric, cochineal, saxin, dulcin, glucin, formic aldehyde, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, benzoic acid, beta-napthol, benzoato of soda, sodium chloride, saccharin, beet sugar, maple sugar, birch sugar, glucose or starch sugar, gum tragacantb, linseed, glycerine, corpulose, sulphurous ncid, boracic acid, dry calcic sulphite, sodium sulphite-, iormahn compoimds, bisulphite of lime, magnesium sulphite, magnesium bisulphite, metasulphite of potassium, methylated spirits of wine, alum, saltpetre, ammonium acetate, fluorine compounds, copper salts, pyroligueous acid, etc. Those who buy cheap cordials take a big risk! 2. Thomson and Co. use only the purest and best fresh fruit juices, tfie very finest No. 1 grade car.e • sugar, and all other ingredients used for different purposes are the purest and best obtainable in the world. 3. They guarantee that all Cordials, Carbonated Waters, Syrups. Wines, etc., bearing their name and trade mark " Purity" on capsule. label, and wrapper contain NO ADULTERATION OB CHEMICALS OF ANY KIND. 4. To guard against any possibility of adulteration, all fruit juices, and other raw material are microscopically and analytically examined in Thomson's analytical laboratory befoXe being passed tor manufacture. 5. The factory in which Thomson and Co.'s world-renowned drinks are manufactured is the most sanitary and BEST-EQUIPPED SOUTH OF THE LINE, and the staff, are specially trained experts, and are only selected for special duties. 6. The only water used is from a bore 200 feet below tho surface, tapping an artesian crystal spring, and this lovely clear water is preserved in all its natural purity and freshness throughout the whole process of manufacture. No chemicals or alum have therefore to bo used for the precipitation of suspended or other impurities, as is tho case with creek or reservoir water. It is also from 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the reservoir or creek water commonly used. 7. All Cordials, Syrups, etc., are filtered three times before being bottled. This in part, accounts tor the well-known brilliancy and sparkle of THOMSON'S Cordials and Aerated Waters. 8. The machinery is lined with Solid Silver, and all pumps aro fitted with glass plungers instead of brass, thus preventing the possibility, of metallic contamination. 9. All bottles are of clear crystal glass, and aro first thoroughly hand-washed in a stron» solution of permanganate of potash (no machinery being used for the washing), and then rinsed twico with crystal spring water by a patent process that makes it impossible for any foreign substance to remain in them. Fresh spring water is used every time for washing and rinsing. 10. Cheap corks spoil good contents, and Thomsons arc very particular in this respect. AH their corks come from the famous Catalonia Cork Forests, and are first grade. Moreover, before being put into the bottle every cork is carefully selected and then thoroughly sterilised. 11. To make doubly sure of absolute purity, as well as to prevent the slightest possibility of deterioration, EVERY BOTTLE IS PASTEURISED after it is hermetically sealed. This ensures PERMANENT GOOD QUALITY and absolute proof against germs. Thomson and Co. are the only cordial manufacturers in tho Dominion who have adopted pasteurisation. 12. THOMSON AND CO. guarantee- their Ginger Wine to be MATURED IN SEASONED OVK. CASKS FOR TWO YEA US before being bottled, and their Raspberry Vinegar and Limcjuice Cordial to be MATURED FOR AT LEAST 18 MONTHS before being put on the market. 13. Instead of manufacturing gas from sulphuric acid, as is generally done, Thomson and Co. are now importing and using NATURAL GAS, collected from tho famous Continental Wells, and specially compressed and liquefied. The superiority of tliis gas over that produced by the old method was sufficient to warrant them in adopting it for the benefit of their customers. 14. Thomson and Co. have been awarded 23 SPECIAL GOLD MEDALS and 31 FIRST CLASS CERTIFICATES in open competition against the world's best manufacturers. This is a record for Australasia, and speaks for itself. 15. Finally, "PURITY" is Thomson and Co.'s trade mark and watchword—from the washing and rinsing to the manufacturing, bottling, corking, labelling, capsuling, and wrapping of the bottles.
