Mokoia, s.s., came up from Port Chalmers this afternoon to take up the East Coast running to-morrow. Parisiana, s.s., en route from New York for Australia and New Zealand, under the auspices of the A. and A. Line, left St. Vincent on November 11. CVrinna, 6.6., is duo to-night or early tomorrow morning from Onehunga via ports. Clan Grant, s.s., arrived at Banbury on ( Saturday to load jarrah for Wellington, Timaru, and Oamaru. The Clan Maclare-n was to leave Geelong on Tuesday for New Zealand to load for Home. The Italian ship Beecroft is to leave ' Lyttelton at the end of this week or early next week for Newcastle, where 6he will i load for South America. It is to- ; ported that an offer was made to load her with wheat for Auckland, but the proposal fell through. The training ship Medway, owned by Devitt and Moore, arrived at Sydney on Monday, November 21, after a voyage of 107 days from London. The Medway has twenty-two cadets. After discharge of cargo she loads wool at Sydney for Home. At 4.45 p.m. on- Saturday the Tyser Line's new steamer Indrabarah left Wellington for London. About the same time the New Zealand Shipping Company's Kaikoura left Lyttelton for the Home port, and at 6 ajn. on. Sunday the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's representative (the Kia Ora) left Wellington for London. All three steamers aro being sent Home with wooL, which has to catch the January Bales. The New Zealand Shipping Company state that the Kaikoura is not going to be driven to beat the other two vessels, but that sho is dne at London about January 6or 7. The Indrabarah is quite a new ship, and as this is her first voyage from New Zealand to London it will be interesting 1 to see what she can do against tho Kia Ora. The Scales steamer Clan Ross left Wellington at 5 p.m. on Monday week with a cargo that is intended for the 6ales also. Speculation runs high as to which vessel will reach the Home port first. A notice in last week's ' Gazette' states that repairs are about to be effected to the light situated at Capo Maria Van Diemen, and to enable them to be carried out the revolving light will be discontinued from or about the night of Thursday, December 29. During the discontinuance of the revolving light a fixed white light will bo exhibited in its place, visible about twelve miles from a vessel's deck in clear weather. A Tegular steamship service between Tatrranga and Wellington is to be established next year. Mr Richaid Keene, of Wellington, and some other gentlemen there, who have landed interests in the Eay of Plenty, arc shareholders in a company which are having built at New-castle-an-Tyne a steamer to ran between, the two ports, and orders for two or throe mare boate for the eamo trad©will be placed in course of time. The Harbor Trust have considered the ureeawoTthinees of the steamer Papanni. Tho owners want to go elsewhere to effect repairs, but refuse to state whore. Tho Trust have decided to interview the Marine Board. The Papanni is now flying the Nicaraguan flag. [The Papanni, it will be remembered, struck a rock off the Tasmanian coast. She belonged to the New Zealand Shipping Company, who sold her to a Melbourne syndicate after the accident. Since then th© Papanui has been resold. On November 18, after a long deliberation, the Marine Board determined not to waive their orders that the Papanui be detained in port. This conclusion was arrived at after a full consideraikm of the reports submitted by the Board's surveyors, who stated that they were not satisfied with the nature of the alterations and tho repairs to the vessel.
