The takings at tho Tokoniairiro Farmers’ Club’s show at Alilton yesterday wore £56 3s 9(1, which is the best "gate” for many years past, and the function was undoubtedly a most successful one. There was a fine display of light 1 mrses, and the ring set apart for these was a centre of animation all the afternoon, proceedings winding up at 5.30 with a jumping contest over three flights of hurdles. Mr Callender also won in the classes for two-year-old fillies, pair of mares, and mare bred by exhibitor. Other prize-winners were J. and C. Campbell (throe-year-old filly, which was placed reserve champion), .1. A. Sutherland (yearling filly), J. Robinson i (mare and two of her progeny), A. Allison (spring-van mare or gelding, an:l three-horse, team), and P. Porter (yeld mare, and pair of mares or geldings). Air A. Allison secured tho prize for most points in draught stock.' ■■ Air J. O’Brien, of Oamaru, had a busy day judging the light horses. A. Campbell did well in harness horses, scouring prizes for dog-cart mare or gelding, buggy mare or gelding, and pair of buggy horses, while Aliss C. Campbell took two prizes in the pony classes.
