FIRES Just before 006 thia mwato the brigade were called to Mr J. J. Marlows furniture shop and workshop in Prince# street. The tiro appeared to have originated in the latter room, b»yt its cause is unknown. The brigade attacked the flames with the chemical engine, and used such skill and care that not only was the fire out in a few minutes, but comparatively little damage was done to the stock. The building was Insured with the Standard Office for £750, while Mr Marlows stock and machinery were covered by separate policies with the Australian Alliance and Victoria for £SOO and £3OO respectively.
