EMPIRE LECTURES
The Royal Colonial .Institute has dfr; aided to c&tablish an “ Empire Lecturers’ Fund,” to which the general public are asked to subscribe. Tho money-is required for the delivery of addreeses on the British Empire and its resources at provincial centres, universities, and schools, and also in tho smaller towns and country districts. By the generosity of one of tho Fellows, who recently placed a sum of money at the disposal of the Council, a series of experimental lectures have been already delivered in the County of Dorset, and tho success of the experiment shows how much good could bo done in diffusing knowledge and information concerning the Empire throughout the coontrv.
The Council therefore hope that the proposed scheme, by reason of its Imperial character, is one which will appeal to all the Fellows and Associates, as well as the general public, and that sufficient funds may be provided to enable measures to be taken to inaugurate, the movement in the autumn, to continue the work throughout the coming winter months, and finally place tho v scheme on a sound and. permanent basis.—London correspondent.
