PROPERTY SALES. Geerin, Hally, and Co. report having fold at auction all that parcel of land contained in part of allotment 12, block 3, Maoandrew road, South Dunedin, together with a four-roomed -dwelling erected thereon, to Mr Frank Fitzpatrick, at a satisfactory figure. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. WELLINGTON, August 1. The High Commissioner cabled from London on July 30: — Mutton market weak, although tho supply is moderate. There is a poor local demand. Average prices to-day; Canterbury, 3|d; North Island, 3^d. Lamb.—Market steady, with a < better demand, and holders are less anxious to sell. Canterbury is quoted at 4|d; other than Canterbury, 4|d. Beef. —Better demand, and market firm, with a hardening tendency. Supplies of chilled beef small. New Zealand hinds to-dav are quoted at 3jd, fores 2|d. Butter. —Market quiet, but steady. Good demand continues for best quality. The supply of New Zealand is practically exhausted. Prospects for next season are encouraging. Danish, 114s; Siberian, 100s. w .. . , Cheese.—Market steady, with improved •demand. White, 575; colored, 555.

Hemp.—Market dull, and declining, and rioor business has been done. New Zealand good fair, on spot, £24_; fair grade, ■621 10s; fair current Manila, £2O 10s. For forward shipment ;*& T ew Zealand good fair, £23 10s; fair grade, £2? ■ fair current Manila, £2O IQs. The output from Manila, for the week was 25,000 bales. Kauri Gum. —Market firm, with more inquiry. Wheat. —Market firmer, owing to the wet season. New Zealand long-berried, on spot, ex granary, per quarter of 4951b. fid; New Zealand short-berried, 33s fid. Oats.—Market quiet. New Zealand short sparrowbills, ex granary, on spot, tier quarter of 3841b, 18s; New Zealand Danish, ex granary, on spot, per quarter of 3201b, 16s fid. P<eans.—Market quiet and steady.
