Messrs G. E. Keasfc (chairman),' A. A. Campbell, A. G. Fenwick, P. Brady, J. Ledgenvood, R. Hobbs, and D. F. MTvay attended the monthly meeting of the Otago Centre of tho New Zealand Athletic Union, held last evening in the secretary’s office.

Ales. Aitcheson (Herbert) made application for his name to be removed from tho defaulters’ list. —Name to be removed after payment of fees duo to the Alexandra Society. W, F. Trembath wrote stating that tho match between Sanson and himself was off, owing to a dispute as regards distances. The writer stated that it was still his intention to proceed to England in April of next year.-—'The letter was received. Mr’C. E. Keaafc said t’hat in view of tho fact that the annual meeting was drawing near, he would take the opportunity of drawing attention to a notice of motion that would come before that meeting. The motion was—“ That the Otago Centro secede from the New Zealand Athletic Union and form a provincial union.” The speaker said that for the past four years tho Otago Centro had paid to the New Zealand Union an average yearly sum of £45, or a total of £IBO. This was more t.ian twice tho amount paid by any other centre in New Zealand. The money all spent in the upkeep of the New Zealand Union, from which their Centre received little or no benefit.

The annual report states that during the year thirty-five societies and clubs registered, as against thirty of the previous season. .Messrs Keast and Fenwick represented the Centre at the N.Z.A.U. conference, held at Greymouth last March. thanks of the club are due to Messrs Wylie (Fort Ch,liners), J. Oliver (Kaitangata), Stevens (Clyde), and R. G. Varcoc (Cromwell), who represented tho Centro at the different mootings. Tho balance-sheet shows that tho_total expenditure during the year was £45 19s ICd. The total receipts amounted to £lO5 12s 3d. ’The credit balance now stands at £6l 12s 6d.
