Messrs Raphael 'thick . and Sons (London) send uk a lithographed fae-simile of the Queen Mother’s letter of thanks to the people of the Empire for tlreir sympathy witlx her in her time of sorrow for the loss of her husband, King Edward VTI. 't he border to the letter was designed by Sir E. J. Poynter, president of the Royal Academy, and is symbolical of the Empire’s grief. The letter was published by the Queen Mother’s command, and the proceeds from its sale will be devoted to charitable objects.
The ‘ Review of Review's ’ for July contains the usual interesting digest of the world’s latest news in literature and science. The ‘ History of the Month ’ provides a comprehensive synopsis of the world’s doings. The character sketch is on ’Selfridge's,’ the huge universal, piioviding establishment of London. The caricatures furnish a revelation of. the way in which the world regards passing events, seriously or facetiously.
