The weekly .meeting of the Executive of the Otago Hockey Association was held last flight, Mr J. L. Hobbs in (be chair. The Rev. J. A. Ryburn wrote tendering his resignation as a member of the Executive, his removal from Dunedin having made tliis nec€ssary.--The Chairman oxpressed his regret, and that of members generally, at the knowledge that Mr Ryburn's services for hockey had been lest. He was one of those who considered nothing a trouble if it tended to improve the game or its management. He moved, and it ivas carried—"That Mr Ryburn's resignation be accepted with, regret, and that the secretary he instructed to convey to him the thanks of the Association for his services in the past, and best wishes for tho success of his future career." Mr F. B. Adams applied for u transfer from the University Club to the Y.M.C.A. Club.—The Secretary of the former club advised that Mr Adams's resignation had been accepted.—Transfer granted. The Secretary of the Otago Club asked that the fixtures for the next two Saturdays hj: rearranged, eo that Otago should have a bye on Saturday next. As Otago had arrange* to play at Oamaru on Friday, they would be glad of an off day on the Saturday if that could be arranged.—Mr Rutherford said that he would be quite willing that his team (University) should play on Saturday instead of having the bye, so that Otago could have that day off, but he was not sure whether the members of his team had not. made arrangements which would prevent this. He would do what he could if the Executive wkhed to accede to the request. —It wa« resolved that Messrs Rutherford, Calder, aJid Jarman he empowered to deal with the application and arrange next %Saturday's fixtures. The Secretary of the Gymnastic Club wrote asking to be allowed to withdraw their C team from the junior competition, as it was found impossible to play more than two junior teams.—Agreed to. The Union B junior team having twice m succession failed to keep its engagements, it was decided that they stand down next Saturday, the secretary in the meantime to ascertain what probability there is of the team -fulfilling its future engagements. The secretary was empowered to arrange for necessary work at Forbnry Park to be done. Mr R. M. Rutherford was elected to the Match Committee in place of the Rev. Mr Ryburn, and the vacancy on the Executive was filled by the appointment of Mr A. W. J. Maitland. Messrs Hobbs, Rutherford, and Jarman ■were appointed a Selection Committee. A resolution of condolence with Mr G. E. Israel (a member of the Executive) on the deiith of his mother was carried in silence.
