Two officials of the Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club were charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-dav -with wilfully trespassing on the 'Wellington Racing Club’s course at the Trentham summer meeting. Judgment was reserved. BOWLING < The competition for prizes donated by Mr M. Allan for a handicap doubles tournament has been exciting a groat deal of interest - (says our Palmerston correspondent), and a great number of enthusiasts assembled on the green to witness the final round between Messrs W. Ross (s) and W. Porteous, and E. H. Clark (s) and W. Tarlton. Mr W. Ross had a handicap of 2 points, and _ho won an oxciting contest by 5 points. Dir Ross, who is in excellent form this season, also succeeded in winning the vice-president’s gold medal in the Singles Handicap, which was played at the beginning of the season.
