A modern Knock Arden case came before His Honor .Mr Justice Edwards, sitting in Divorce at Wellington yesterday. Jlio petitioner. James Reed (who was represented by Mr M. Myers), asked for a declaration that his marriage with Caroline Gibbins was a. nullity. There was no appearance for (he respondent. The case for the petitioner was I hat. the respondent had been married before to a man named John Gibbins, and they went together to .Melbourne. She thought sho had good raeon to uelievo that her husband was dead, and she returned to New Zealand, where she was married to the petitioner, who is a hoarding-house keeper at Masterton.
lu the ease Elizabeth Hester Spaan v. John Bpaan, at Christchurch, a decree nisi was granted, with of the children ; and in the case .Mary Alin Bradley v. Edward Bradley a decree nisi was granted.
