LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE SOCIETY. Mr J. H. Chappell (president) was in the ehair ..t the monthly basket social of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Society of Otago, held in the Trades Hall. Momplace, last evening. There was a large attendance of members, also visitors from country parts. A trombone trio was supplied by members of the Momington Band ; songs by Mrs Aitken, Miss Fitzjratrick’ and .Mr Hudson (comic); duets by Misse'a Hardy; and a dialect- reading by Mr C Frye. Music for the. dancing was provided by the Frye family, and Mr R. Jackson acted as MX'. The musical items were of a specially good quality during the evening.
