An adjourned meeting of the Committee of the Otago Cricket Association was held last evening to consider the question of the appoiniUnont of a coach for the coining season; present—Messrs J. J. Clark (chairman), C. G. Wilson, J. Hope, C. Gooch, T. Ritchie, J. Clarke, A. Nelson, and G. Wycherley. At a meeting of the Committee, held on the previous night, the dozen applications received from Australia for the position of coach were reduced to five, and these wer< further dealt with last evening in committee. The result was the reappointment of Mr C. Wordsworth on the same termi as last season—namely, £3 per week and passage paid to New Zealand. Mr Wordsworth k at present residing in Sydney, and in his application to the Association stated that he had quite recovered in health. His appointment was made subject to a confirmation of his complete recovery in heakh. The motion for the appointment of ,Mr Wordsworth was carried by five votes to three, Messrs Clark, Nelson, and Wycherley comprising the minority. —Opening of the Season^—

It was decided that First and Second Grade matches commence on Saturday, October 16, and TJrird and Fourth Grade matches a week later. Entries of the teams reqnfre to be lodged ten daji before the season opem.
