CREMATION
■ STATE APPEALED TO. Press Association—Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, May 7. A deputation favoring cremation waited on the Premier (Mr Wade) to-day. Ii was pointed out that the cost to the Government of a crematorium would be infinitesimal as compared with the cost of cemeteries. Mr Wade made a non-committal reply, and did not hold out any hope that the Government would erect a crematorium’. One of the strongest objections, he said, to cremation was that it would interfere with the chance of crime by poisoning being brought home to the criminal, and that it might prove an incentive to murder.
