The Dunedin field staff of the Provident Assurance Company held their quarterly social at the Carlton Restaurant, when a very pleasant evening was spent. Wongs were rendered by Messrs Jennings ji ac . kett, Thorley, Lawson, and Quirk, an i recitations by Messrs Hill and Shannon. Mr May was also very successful with a violin solo. During the evening the chief superintendent (Mr Williams) presented the prizes to the winners of the quarterly competition (Messrs Running and May). The agents also took advantage of the occasion to present Mr Williams with a case of pipes. ..
