DUNEDIN COURSING CLUB.

. Skco.n'd Day.—Saturday. The showers early in the afternoon rather improved the ground; indeed, a little more rain would have been welcomed'by .'the trainers for the sake of their dogs'" feet. The day's arrangements were well managed by a wise an energetic bedv of officials and in this connection general thanks ;a>' due to Mr P. H. Power (secretary), whilst reporters were indebted to Mr G". Lethaby for his work as Press steward. Mr M Quirk's slipping gave much satisfaction, and Mr T. Kelt- judged well. His' decision in the course between Sorcery and Bright. Plume was the subject of a protest but Mr Kett had a ready reply to the -■• complaint. He said that Sorcery scored for the lead and the turn, and' nothiti" thereafter, for she was only scouting all the time, and there was no" merit in her kill. Since Mr Kitt was the only man on the ground who could properly follow th* movements of the does, his answer must be" accepted as correct: Some cf the onlookers thought that Sorcery had won. Evidently however, her activity" was not making points. The following concludes our report : SUPPLEMENTARY STAKE.
