MASONIC.

The installation of W. Bro. J. J. Clark as W.M. of Lodge Haeremai, No. 155, and the investiture of officers was held in the llaeremai Masonic Hall last evening. The new hall was used for the first time, and the seating accommodation was taxed to the uttermost, there being a large attendance of brethren. The W.M. opened the lodge at 7.15, and the visiting brethren were then admitted. The Grand Director of Ceremonies (W. Bro. E. W. 0. li. Watts, P.G.D.) announced the arrival of the Provincial Grand Master of Qtago (R.W. Bro. Thcs. Boss) and his Grand Jxidge officers, who were received with the usual Masonic honors. The ceremony of installing the W.M. was performed by the Prov. G.M., assisted by R.W. Bro. D. A. M'Nicoll, Prov. G. 1., LG., in an impressive manner. The investiture of officers for the ensuing year was carried out by the officers of The Masters’ Lodge. The following are the officers:—W.M., W. Bro. J. ,1. Clark; D.M., W. Bro. O. 11. Moller; S.D.. Bro. Hunter M'Kechnie ; J.D., Bro. J. D. King ; secretary, W. Bro. A. W. Flott; treasurer, Bro. H. B. Bruudell; D. of C., Bro. J. J. Dickson; chaplain, Bro. G. W. Crawford ; organist, Bro. A. Harrop; S.D., Bro. A. T. Watson ; J.D., Bro. H. W’hyte ; 1. Bro. A. Allan; tyler, Bro. F. E. Austin; stewards—Bros. Martin, Waldrcn, Holdstein, Hall, Robertson, Annan, Blair, Noster, and M'Kellar. At the conclusion of the ceremony a. banquet was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, when the usual Masonic toasts were duly honored, and an excellent programme of musical items was rendered.

During the evening the W.M. (W. Bro. J. J. Clark), on behalf of his lodge, made a presentation of a silver trowel to the Prov. G.M., to commemorate the laying of the foundation stone of the new ledge and in recognition of the many services rendered to the lodge during the first year of its existence.
