The Rev. P. W. Fairclough arrived in Dunedin yesterday to resume the pastorate of Trinity Methodist Church after an interregnum of five years. Mr Fairclough wai met on the station by the Circuit stewards and a large number of the officials, who accorded him and Mrs Fairclough a hearty welcome. Mr Fairclough conducts the harvest festival services on Sunday. " Our own " wires from Cromwell : Ideal weather prevails here. A slighl touch of frost in the carlv morning is followed by a cloudle&s sky, with ? warm .sun. The new Roman Catholic Church is to be opened by Bishop Vcrdon on Sunday, and a large number of visitois are expected. The river is falling and the Gorge dredges will toon be able to start again. At the leqnest of Mi John Gillice, at whose factory a tire occurred on Wednesday last, we wish to correct the date of a previous fire caused by sparks from the T. and P. Company's factory chimney. Instead of hapjwning alsout eight months ago (as our reporter was infoimed on Wednesday at Mr Gillies'H factory) it occurred on 23th January, 1907.
