The 'Windsor Magazine' (R. J. Stark and Co.) for April is packed with fine stories and valuable articles, all freely illustrated. A long instalment of Justus Miles Forman's new serial 'The Quest' reaches a further stage of interest, and Maurice Hewlett's 'Brazenhead in Milan finds a picturesque close. The short stories of the number include two laughable pieces of comedy by Clotilde Graves and B. A. Clarke, and a little tragedy of Australian bush life by Mary Gaunt. " Charles ft. D. Roberts .coptributes. a new animal story; and the fine art feature deals with the battle pictures of Ernest Crofts, R.A., fourteen of which are reproduced! The recent article on 'The Board of Trade's Headquarters of Weights and Measures' at Old Palace Yard is followed by one on the 'Work of Inspectorship of Weights and Measures' throughout the country, which is accompanied by many interesting photographs; and. a picturesque fragment of modern Canadian history is told in the story of the Red Indian rising at. Frog Lake.
