SHOOTING.

HIGHLAND RIFLES. On Saturday the above company fired the second competition of No. 2 Match for prizes presented by Lieutenant Robertson and the company. The shooting was very poor, owing to the gusty wind which prevailed. Sergeant Burt again scored the possible at 600 yards. Conditions: Seven shots and a sighter at 300, 500, and 600 yards. Highest scores:

DUNEDIN CITY GUARDS. The above corps fired the second corapetitiou of a three-day match for prizes presented by the company. The variab'e light and changeable winds made shooting very erratic. Conditions: Seven shots and ono sighter at 300, 500, 600 yards. Scores:—

FIRST RAILWAY PIONEERS. The above corps fired a one day's match for prizes presented by the "company. Lieutenant Wardle secured the possible at 500 yards. Conditions: Seven shots and one optional sighter at 200 and £OO yards. Highest scores:

* Prize-winners. DUNEDIN RIFLE CLUB. The club fired the final competition for Mr C. F. Greenslade's prize. Highest scores, with tho aggregates-.

DUNEDIN RIFLES. The Dunedin Rifles fired a one-day match for prizes presented by the noncoms, and the company. Conditions : Seven shots and optional' sighter at 200 and 500 yards. Highest scores :

* Prize winners. The B Class also fired the third and final competition of No. 1 match, which was won by Private M'Lean, with an aggregate of 51, Corp. Knight being second with a score of 50.
