Miss Powdrell beat Mrs Lindsay 6—o 6—o. Miss Nurmelev beat Miss Travers, 7—5, 6—l. Miss Welhrood beat Miss Batham, 6—3, 6—3. MEN'S DOUBLES. Bennington and Weir beat Pearse and Bamford, B—6, 4—6, 6—5. 6—2. Salmond and Brown beat Bonnington and Weir, 7—5, 4—6, 6—3, B—lo. 6—4. Parker and Doust beat Quill and Fisher. 6—2. 11—9, 3—6, 2—6, 6—3. Parker and Dotiit beat Quill ami Prouse, B—6, 6— 3, 6—4, 6—l. LADIES' DOUBLES. Misses Wellwood and Travels beat Misses Todd and Seed, 6—2, 7—5. —Final.— Misses Powdrell and Grav boat Misses Wellwood and Travers, 6—4", 6—2. COMBINED DOUBLES. Miss Nunneley and Wilding boat Miss Braithwaite and Peacock, 6—2, 6—o. Miss Travers and Doust beat Miss Wellwood and Brown, 6—4, 7—5. The chief attraction was the game in the Men's Doubles between Parker and Doust and Fisher and Peacock, it being full of brilliant play on both sides. The New Zealanders took the first game in the first set, the Australians replying with 3. Parker's volleying was excellent. Fisher played somewhat erratically. The fifth game was won by the New Zealanders, then the Sydney pair ran out with three successive games. Doust lobbed short on several occasions, and Peacock smashed in good style. There were several exchanges with all four men at the net. In the second set the games were on service up to 3 all, when Parker and Doust won ' from their opponents, who retaliated by i taking it from them. Then the games 1 were won on service by each side ; alternately up to 9 all. Doust and Parker j won the next two sets, finishing 11—9. ! The third set- was really won by Fisher, who did first class work in volleying and off the ground. Peacock assisted the other side somewhat by heavy slogging. Doust did not appear comfortable to Fisher's service. The set was won by Fisher and Peacock, 6—3. Doust did fine defensive work in the fourth set, Fisher i and Peacock being excellent over head. I Parker played and volleyed with great precision. The Wellington pair took the I set 6—2, but fell off badly in the next j set, which went to Parker and Doust, who I ran out the winneTS of the set and match 6—3, a result which was contributed in by a misunderstanding between Fisher and Peacock as to who should take the overhead work. In the Combined Doubles Miss Travers and Doust beat Miss Wellwood and Brown. After two good games. Miss Glasgow and Powley scratched, giving Miss Nunnelly and Wilding a walkover.
