The 'New York World ' publishes the figures of the campaign expenses of the candidates for the Presidency from 1868 onwards. They are as follows :
It is worthy of remarK that the two years in which a Democrat won were 1884. when the Democrat war chest was the better stocked of the two, and 1892 when the Democratic expenditure’ though exceeded by the Republican’ reached high-water mark.
