Some exceedingly smart thieves at Hamburg made a fine haul the other day. Jewels to the value of £25,000 had been deposited by a Copenhagen diamond merchant with the proprietors of the Hamburgerhof, one q{ the most fashionable hotels in the city, and were placed (as usual) Jn the strong room, the keys of which are held by the responsible officials j given to the owners of the, property so | deposited.
