DUNEDIN JCK3KEPT CLUB RACES, Second Day.—Monday. The weather was ehowery, nevertheless the course was in very fair order, The same eight bookmakers plied their calling from Saturday. Grosvenor clouted the stand hurdle very bard, and Secular wee cheered for his clever recovery, but both his feet went through the irons and he lost control of the' horse. Storm led Royal Shell along the back of the five-furlong mark. ••■ Leonardo ran up to Storm, but fell away at onpe. With half a mile to go Storm was leading Royal Shell and Leonardo, the .latter pair together. .Storm kept in front down the straight, and just staved off a good run by Royal Shell, winning by a nose, Leonardo two lengths away, and then Stormont. Flavour and Erskine made the running side by side for three furlongs, where Ngawere joined them. "Hie leaders made a wide turn into the straight, and Passion luckily slipped up on the inside, thereby gaining an advantage, which she held to, the end, winning by a length from Spinning Flight, with Balaclava only a nock' away. Grand Slam and Rose Moble jumped off in front from a good start, but were at onoe passed by The Seer, who held control in front of Rose Moble, Grand Slam, and Speculate. After going two furlongs Grand Slam was in front, and Astrakhan had taken second position. In the next furlong Astrakhan rah into the lead, and three furlongs from home looked like winning again, but at the entrance to the straight lie was joined by Tikitere and Apolkdoris. Below the distance Rose Moble also got up, and AsUriklian there fell away. Tikitere was in charge 150 yds from home,' but was then challenged by Apollodoris and Rose Moble joining in, A good finish wae seen, in which only a neck separated the first three. [Special to the Stab.] The annual race meeting of the Cromwell Jockey Olub was commenced oh Saturday, and attended with fine weather. The attendance was smaller than lost year, due probably to an overcast sky and intermittent showers. However, in the afternoon the weather cleared, and the day turned out warm.
