ANGRY WITH NEW ZEALAND
Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. SYDNEY, May 6. (Received May 5, at 10.18 am.) A deputation of fruitgrowers protested to the Minister of Agriculture against the New Zealand regulations requiring a certificate declaring that citrus fruits exported to tii© Dominion were not grown within a mile of any fruit fiv infested spot.
The Minister stated that he had written to the New Zealand Minister of Agriculture suggesting that the resolutions of the Inter-State Fruit Conference might be accepted by him, but he had received no reply. While he did not desire to make threats, he would say that if the New Zealand Government were not reasonab'e the Government of the State might try the same sort of method which they had tried successfully with Victoria. If a certificate that no fruit fly was present in the shipment were given, that ought to satisfy New Zealand.
