WHAT ARE THE LIQUOR PARTY AFRAID OF?
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —It is now four months since the secretary of the Licensed Victuallers’ Association returned from his quest for “proofs” of the failure of Prohibition. Over and over again he has been urged to publish these “ proofs ” of which he talks so much in sufficient time that they may be tested in America, and thus proved or disproved. If the evidences are genuine, inquiry can only strengthen them. Another mail leaves for the United States on Thursday morhing early. Matter must be posted on Wednesday night to catch it. If the liquor party wish to save themselves from q charge of questionable tactics they will publish some of this “ alleged evidence ” tomorrow night.—l am) etc., Temperance Worker. May 5.
