ARRIVED.—ApriI 28. Strathavon, s.s, 4,403 tons, Cottrall. from New York via Australian and Northern ports, Ulimaroa, t.s.s., 5,777 tons, Wylli;, from Melbourne via Hobart and the Bluff. Passengers ; Misses Bell, Brown, Berwick, Todd, Forrester, Mesdames Gourlay, Milligan, Bell, Le Gallic, Forrester. Watson, Smith, Messrs Thomas, Langdon, Ross, Young, Watson, Wostmoat, Rice, Lockhart, Brown, Caine, Duncan, Poltinger, Howard, Hicks. Head, Smith, La Masshia (3), Scott; twenty-three steerage. Victoria, s.s., left Dunedin this afternoon for Sydney via East Coast ports and Auckland. She took away a large shipment of chaff for Northern ports. Ulimaroa, t.s.s.. from Melbourne via Hobart and the Bluff, reached Dunedin this afternoon, berthing atthe cross wharf. She leaves to-morrow afternoon for Sydney via Cook Strait. Farewell Spit advises the Te Anau. from Greymouth, passed east for Dunedin at 10.50 a.m. to-day. Capo Maria Van Diemen reports that the Manuka, from cast, passed west at 9 a,m. to-day. Strathavon, s.s., a new cargo steamer from New York via Australian and Northern porks, was sighted off the Heads this forenoon, and was expected to reach Dunedin late this afternoon. A Northern exchange says that the Strathavon is a steel screw steamer of 4,403 tons gross and 2.830 tons net register, and is sf6.lft lone, 52,2 ft in beam, and 17.4 ft in depth of hold. She'js fitted with triple expansion engines of 553 nominal horsenower. The vessel was built at Greenock last year by the Grangemouth and Greenock Dockyard’ Company. She is owned by the Strathavon Steamship Company (Messrs Burrell and Son, managers), is registered at Glasgow, and commanded by Contain Cottrall. She has 600 tons of general cargo for this port.
