THE FORBURY PARK.
TO THE o EDITOR. Sit;— When the Corporation finances are in such a buoyant condition, notwithstanding the amount of money frittered away during the last few years," there should be no reason even to adopt Cr Stewart's motion to take a plebiscite on the question. I have heard it jocularly remarked that if the Ratepayers' Association are against its purchase there is no use for the citizens to consider the matter further. 1 hav« known the park since 1872, and as for drainage matters, it is in no way worse than other portions of the Flat. We are well aware that the City has a large area of reserves, including the beautiful Town Belt, from which there • is practically no revenue. Then why should a revenue point of view be looked at for the purchase of Forbury Park?—l am, etc.. Advance. April 14.
