Tlio usual monthly meeting of the Forbury School Committee \v;.s lield in the school last night; present—Messrs Johnson (chairman), Harvey, M'Moeking. Offen. Stewart, Reid, Kernohan, and Steel. The head master reported a roll number of 672, and an average of 624 for the quarter ended MaTch 31. Correspondence was received from Mr Healy. third assistant, tendering his resignation; from Education BoaTd re election of Committee ; and from the architect re report on defective ceilings. It was proposed by Mr M'Meeking and seconded by Mr Johnson—" That this Committee desire to place upon record its appreciation of the.services rendered to Forbury School by the secretary (Mr Steel), and compliment him upon the successful issue of his efforts to secure the extended accommodation required." This was carried unanimously. The draft report for the year was submitted and adopted. The secretary was instructed to write to the Rev. R. Mackie, who is leaving the district, regretting bis departure, and thanking him for the kind interest he has always taken in Forbury and its surroundings.
