SUDDEN DEATH. At 6.30 p.m. yesterday Charles Henry Pordham Taylor (15) died suddenly at his parents’ residence, No. 5 Hope street, Selwyn, N.E, Talley. Deceased had been an invalid for the past three years. About a week ago he caught a cold, which is thought to be the cause of death. An inquest will be held to-morrow. FELL OFF A WAGGON. Our Cromwell “special” wires that on Saturday evening at Bannockburn a boy named Gillanders fell off a wool waggon. Both his arms wore crushed by a wheel passing over them. LOOKS LIKE SUICIDE. Telegraphed per P.A. from Ashburton a— Last evening the body of a man named George Oochnmo was found in an advanced stage of decomposition in a hut at Elgin, Wakanui, about four miles from Ashburton. Tho case is evidently one of suicide, ns a gun, containing a discharged cartridge, was found lying with the mpzzlc pointing towards tlie body, and the same kind of cartridges were in. the hut. Deceased was a single man, about thirty years of age, and had lived all his life in the Wakanui district. All his relatives reside in tho vicinity, INJURED IN A COAL MINE. A young man named Andrew Harris, engaged in the Mount Somers coni pits, had his right foot badly crushed while engaged in his work on Thursday. He was removed to the Ashburton Hospital, where on Sunday it was found necessary to amputate the injured limb at the ankio joint.—Ashburton P.A. telegram. A BABY DROWNED. The twenty-months-old iniant danghtcr-of Alfred Mace Was drowned through falling down a well.—Pahiatua telegram. FOUND DEAD. A Nelson telegram states that George Marshall was found dead near his residence at Nga Timoti yesterday morning. No details are to hand.
