SOCIAL SERVICE.

The monthly meeting of the Presbyterian h'K-ia! Service Association was held in First Church Hall on Tuesday afternoon; present—Dr Xis bet (in the chair), Revs. A. Cameron, J. Chisholm, and E. A. Asclsen, Di> Riley and Church, and Messrs R. Chisholm, J. Blair, and P. L. Clark. Dr Agatha Adams wrote offering her service i as honorary mcdicaf adviser to the orphanage. Tiie offer was most heartily accepted, and Drs Church and Riley were appointed honorary consulting medical ofliceis. The treasurer presented the financial cu.auir.ont, elsowing that £6O had been contributed since last meeting. Dr Xisbet and the Rev. J. Chisholm placed before the Committee a draft of a constitution for the orphanage, which, with a few minor amendments, was accepted by tho meeting. The agent reported that a large number of cases had been dealt with during the month, and everything possible had been done to relievo genuine distress.
