OTAGO GOLF CLUB.
The monthly competition for the St. Andrew’s cross (gold and silver) took place on Balmacewen links on Saturday afternoon, when a large number of members tried conclusions with “ Colonel Bogey.” When the cards were handed in it was found that three competitors— Allan Holmes, J. N. Lawson, and R. J. Smith—had tied for the honor of first place, the card of each showing the excellent score of 4 up on the “ Colonel.” The silver cross was .won by F. Duthie, whose score was 4 down. The following are some of the best cards handed in : Handicap. Score. R. .1. Smith 6 4 up. Allan Holmes 11 4 up. J. N. Lawson 11 4 up. C. Turnbull ... 4 3 up. H. D.
