CITY TRAMWAY TRACKS.
TO THE BDITOJI. Sir, —As a rule, a brand new ship, is supposed to run for years without having any repairs done to her. Not so with our tramway tracks. These "tracks” are scarcely out of the hands of the contractors, which now appear to have gone all to "pot.” An army of workmen are now busy patching up the tracks under the supervision of an “expert,” who was engaged with the contractors, and no donbt knows all the weak spots and mixtures of the asphalt. The track on the St. Clair branch has been carried out in first-class style, which is more than can be said of other parts of the work, notably that por-' tion of it opposite the Union Bank and European Hotel. The question which might be asked at the next Council meeting is ; How much money will it take to put these humpty-dumpty lines into proper trim? —I am, etc.-, Citizen. January 8.
